Flexa Payments Launched for Digital Payments

Digital payments network Flexa on Wednesday (April 27) launched Flexa Payments, a set of tools that allow merchants to instantly accept 99 digital currencies from any app or wallet.

In its announcement, the company said Flexa Payments includes real-time authorizations, flexible settlement options, regulatory compliance and compatibility with all digital currency wallets across 12 blockchain networks.

The tools allow merchants to enable digital currency acceptance anywhere they receive payments, whether it’s in-store, online or in their mobile apps. The interface also allows users to pick the right network and digital currency.

The new capabilities will be released this summer to Flexa’s point of sale partners, including integrations with InComm Payments, Blackhawk Network, Citcon, GK, Rooam and more.

“In order for digital asset payments to become embedded in our financial system, today’s consumers need the flexibility to seamlessly and securely pay with the asset of their choice,” Tyler Spalding, co-founder of Flexa, said in the company announcement. “And now, representing the culmination of more than a year of active development, Flexa Payments will meaningfully advance Flexa’s vision of enabling payments in any asset, from any app, anywhere in the world.”

Flexa Payments offers merchants digital currency acceptance support to facilitate the integration process, with instant on-chain payment acceptance over Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Cardano, Celo, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Polygon, Solana Pay, Tezos, Zcash and the Lightning Network.

In December, Flexa’s payment network added Shiba Inu as a payment option at more than 40,000 merchants.

Flexa customers can spend their Shiba Inu digital currency by sending it through the SPEDN wallet on a smartphone app, and can use it to pay for purchases through the Flex Code that appears on screen. That allows the merchant to scan the code similar to Apple Pay and be paid in fiat through the Amp intermediary cryptocurrency, and Flexa deducts the payment amount from the SPEDN wallet.

Nordstrom, Barnes & Noble, Lowe’s, GameStop and Whole Foods are among the merchants that accept Flexa payments, and the company has also partnered with Regal Cinemas to allow moviegoers to pay for tickets and concessions with a variety of cryptocurrencies.
