Detroit Tigers Minor League Report: Roster Shuffle 2.0

With the injury bug hitting the Detroit Tigers roster yesterday, it caused a large massive change among the four Tigers affiliates. Before we recap all the action from last night, let’s start with the roster changes.

Detroit Tigers Minor League Report for June 15th.

Detroit Tigers

  • Placed Matthew Boyd on the 10-day IL with left arm discomfort
  • Placed Alex Lange on the 10-day IL with a right shoulder strain
  • Jeimer Candelario is back in the lineup
  • Recalled LHP Miguel Del Pozo and RHP Wily Peralta from Toledo
  • Placed Rony Garcia to the 60-day IL
  • Designated Beau Burrows and Wilson Ramos on assignment

Toledo Mud Hens

  • Right-handers Mark Leiter Jr, Pedro Payano, and Gerson Monero up from Erie, and RHP Jason Foley and Isaac Paredes return from Detroit.

Erie SeaWolves

  • Right-handers Jesus Rodriguez and Chaver Fernander up from West Michigan

West Michigan Whitecaps

  • Cooper Johnson up from Lakeland
  • IF Corey Joyce and catcher Cole MacLaren from Erie
  • LHP Adam Wolf up from Lakeland

Lakeland Flying Tigers

  • Eduardo Valcenia from West Michigan

Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens (19-17)

Toledo’s five-game winning streak came to an end as they lost 5 to 4 in Columbus.  Wladimir Pinto, who started in place of Matt Manning, threw three innings, allowing one run on two hits and struck out five.

Toledo jumped out to a 3-1 lead, thanks to RBI singles by Grayson Greiner in the first and a pair of singles by Kody Clemens gave him RBIs in the first and third.

The Mud Hens’ last run came off Renato Nunez’s solo shot in the 6th.

Double-A Erie SeaWolves (24-12)

The SeaWolves walked off on a Josh Lester single, 4 to 3. Dillon Dingler singled at his first Double-A at-bat and AJ Ladwig allowed one run over 3.1 innings pitched, striking out six.  Riley Greene has struggled so far in the month of June, producing a slash line of ,.175/.277/.325 and went 0-for-4 on the evening.


High-A West Michigan Whitecaps (19-17)

Lake County rallied in the ninth off a Wenceel Perez error to win 3 to 2. West Michigan got a solid start by Keider Montero, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing one run over three hits, striking out six. Austin Bergner, in his High-A debut, followed up with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out three.

Bryant Packard went 2-for-4 and Cooper Johnson in his High-A debut, went 1-for-4.

Low-A Lakeland Flying Tigers (15-21)

Carlos Guzman navigated through three walks over 5.1 innings, striking out five and scattering four hits as Lakeland won 2 to 1. Parker Meadows in his rehab start, went 1-for-4.
