From the genius of Waka Flocka Flame and Fashun Rivers, we present to you the Drip Teddy Club (DTC), which is a nonfungible token (NFT) profile picture (PFP) project like no other. Originating from the artistic mind of Victor Eghose, a 21-year-old artist in Benin, Nigeria, the DTC was first imagined on a cracked Android phone when Victor was looking for a way to support himself and his family through his passion for drawing. Illustrating every 2D version of Drip Teddy with a cut index finger, Victor was determined to make a way. After another project hacked Victor’s social media accounts to copy his art, Fashun Rivers and Waka Flocka were compelled to take on the project to take it to the next level.
The Drip Teddy Club is pleased to announce that we are integrating Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) into the NFT project. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we can obtain access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to help randomly determine NFT traits. Ultimately, this creates a more exciting and transparent user experience, as each user has a fair chance of minting an NFT with the most desirable traits.
The Drip Teddy Club is bringing the cool factor back to NFTs. Each Drip Teddy drips with their own style, charisma and Metaverse swagger that make the DTC a blockchain celebrity similar to NFT projects such as the BAYC, Crypto Punks, etc. The Drip Teddy Club will not only delivers a digital collection of 10,000 uniquely designed Teddies, but each Teddy will also feature its own soundtrack provided by the platinum and legendary producer Lex Luger, who has produced hits like Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard In The Paint,” Rick Ross’ “BMF,” Ace Hood’s “Hustle Hard,” and a plethora of others. The Drip Teddy Club will be the drippiest NFT collection of all time. This will be the first PFP project of its kind. No NFT PFP has ever provided fantastic artwork along with some of the best sounds in the world before — this will allow each NFT holder to utilize whatever instrumental accompanied their Teddy via licensing.
To help determine NFT traits in a verifiably random manner, we need access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could audit independently. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. For instance, RNG solutions derived from blockchain data like block hashes can be exploited by miners/validators. In contrast, off-chain RNG solutions derived from off-chain APIs are opaque and don’t provide users with definitive proof of the integrity of the process.
After reviewing various solutions, we selected Chainlink VRF because it’s based on cutting-edge academic research, supported by a time-tested oracle network and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that prove the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Drip Teddy Club smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof. The cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the NFT trait selection process is provably fair and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities or the Drip Teddy Club team.
