Agriculture students at Lakeshore Technical College recently participated in the 18th annual Midwest Regional Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge Competition held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and performed rather well.

The students, which are a part of LTC’s Professional Agricultural Student (PAS) organization were among 23 teams that competed February 16th through the 18th.

The team of Lily Charapata, Elizabeth Benicke, Zoe Ertel, and Kaylee Pingel wound up in third, while the team consisting of Kelsie Bramstedt, Brendan Wenzel, Alex Diersen, and Trey Hafkey came in fifth.

At the annual competition, teams present their findings and recommendations to a panel of judges who question them and provide feedback.

PAS is a student-led organization that allows students to build and sharpen their skills so they are ready for the workforce.

The students are enrolled in a variety of agriculture-related programs including agribusiness science and technology, dairy business management, and dairy herd management.
