When Lakeshore Technical College Students cross the stage at the Cleveland Campus to receive their diplomas on Saturday, new traditions will be enshrined within the traditional ceremony.
More than 550 students will be celebrated during the ceremonies which now come with some new ideas incorporated from recent events. In two unanticipated occurrences last year, LTC Staff who were family members of graduates were asked if they wanted to present the diplomas, which they did. This opportunity will now be continued this year and forward.
Also on Saturday, students completing their General Education Development certificate, High School Equivalency Diploma, Registered Apprenticeship, or Youth Apprenticeship will be included in the regular program, rather than in separate observances as was the case in the past. These additions bring the total awards for educational accomplishments to almost 800.
The presentation of diplomas begins at 9 a.m., and will continue until 1:30 p.m. Buildings on the LTC Cleveland Campus will be open from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
