Phillip Bauknight, chair of Fisher Phillips Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin Practice Group recently spoke with CNBC’s Cryptoworld about what employers need to know about paying their employees in cryptocurrency.
In the interview, Phil discusses how the pandemic has created a surge in employees asking to receive some or all of their salary in cryptocurrency. He recommends that employers take the time to evaluate their options for paying their workforce in cryptocurrency so they have a response prepared for these questions from current employees and applicants.
Phil also provides insight into the top issues employers should keep in mind when exploring paying their workforce with cryptocurrency, including federal, state and local wage and hour laws, tax laws and workplace policies that apply to all employees regarding the use of cryptocurrency.
