AMC Theatres announced the acceptance of meme crypto coins such as Dogecoin and Shuba Inuusing BitPay, a crypto payment provider.
“BitPay will be live for AMC online payments on our website by March 19, and live on our mobile apps by April 16, possibly a few days earlier,” tweeted AMC CEO Adam Aron on Monday.
In November 2021, AMC Entertainment Holdings, a unit of the popular movie theatres, began accepting Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin for payments.
AMC allows clients to purchase tickers and goods with the cryptos mentioned. Nevertheless, many AMC’s clients demanded Dogecoin and Shiba Inu as part of the accepter cryptocurrencies.
AMC CEO Adam Aron listened to the request. The first actions taken were the digital AMC gift cards. However, Aaron promised to adopt more versatility measures for both cryptos.
According to Adam Aron, on April 16 there will be full acceptance of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu on the mobile apps.
