In a recent report by ICO Analytics, the research firm reveals that the most popular cryptocurrency on Twitter, a world-renowned social media platform, is Dogecoin’s top rival: Shiba Inu. In a recent tweet, the firm shared the data they’ve gathered for the month of October, which reveals that ranking second, third, and fourth are Ether, Bitcoin, and Dogecoin, respectively.
And, believe it or not, occupying first place on this list is none other than the new crypto token Shiba Inu, with a popularity share of 22%, while Bitcoin only had 8.1%. This brand-new development in Shiba Inu’s story seems to be another nail in the coffin, as the up-and-coming meme token is considered by many to be the most probably Dogecoin killer.
According to ICO Analytics’ graph, Cardano, Solana, and Safemoon, along with Binance tokens, were among the top ten crypto popularly discussed on Twitter. However, none of these well-known projects even came close to Shiba Inu’s popularity.

According to data from CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin and Ether have been trading close to their all-time high prices last Wednesday, while Shiba Inu has been trading at around $0.00005089 at the time of writing. On the 25th of October, the Dogecoin-inspired token spiked in value by about 50%, becoming one of the biggest crypto projects by market value.
These days, the SHIB Army has been showing their all-out support for the meme token on social media platforms as Shiba Inu continues to get compared and pitted against the meme coin pioneer, Dogecoin. Hashtags such as #shibainu, #SHIB, #SHIBARMY, and #ShibaSwap are regularly used on platforms such as Twitter to show their support for the relatively new token.
About a month ago, Adam Aron, the CEO of US’ AMC Theatres, posted a Twitter poll asking crypto enthusiasts whether Shiba Inu should be accepted as a payment option when buying tickets for the movies. 153,100 users voted on that poll, and 81.4% voted “yes.”
TWITTER POLL #2: As you know, you can now purchase AMC gift cards using cryptocurrency, and our IT group is writing code so that soon we can accept online payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin among others. Should we strive to take Shiba Inu too?

It’s clear that many SHIB supporters believe that the meme token is here to stay, while it also has its fair share of naysayers.
