The pace of installation of bitcoin ATMs in the world has slowed down since the beginning of 2022

April was the fourth consecutive month of global crypto ATM installation slowdown. This is evidenced by data from Coin ATM Radar.

Most devices appeared in August 2021 — 2037 units. This happened against the backdrop of the upcoming legalization of bitcoin in El Salvador. At the time of writing, there are 204 ATMs in the country.

In December 2021, 1969 machines were installed in the world, and since January 2022, the indicator began to decline – 1687 new ATMs appeared this month. February: 970, March: 757, April: 739.

Currently, there are 37,052 devices in the world.

The dominant producer is Genesis Coin, which holds 41.5% of the market. It is followed by General Bytes (21.6%), BitAccess (15.2%) and Coinsource (5.3%).

The top 10 leading operators operate more than half of the operating bitcoin ATMs (69.9%). The top three — Bitcoin Depot, CoinCloud and CoinFlip — share more than 9% of the total.
