As of this writing, Solana was the 7^th largest cryptocurrency in the industry. But there are younger, highly potent crypto projects that are growing rapidly and have been taunted as the Solana killer.

One thing that the Bitgert team has done to show that its project is indeed a Solana killer is building a blockchain that is faster than the Solana chain. The Bitgert BRC20 overtook Solana speed, which was the main feature making Solana the most preferred blockchain. In addition to that, the Bitgert chain has a lower gas fee than the Solana chain. These are two features that completely wrecked Solana dominance in the crypto industry.

But the next thing that the Bitgert team is working on to completely replace Solana is building a powerful ecosystem. The Bitgert team has an elaborate plan to grow the number of products and projects on its chain. Multiple products are coming from the roadmap V2, which includes the Bitgert centralized exchange, NFT marketplace, decentralized market, etc.

In addition to the Bitgert products, hundreds of projects are joining the Bitgert ecosystem. According to the team, the Startup Studio program is bringing 1000+ projects before the end of this year. This means more projects on the Bitgert chain than the Solana network. These developments are going to make Bitgert the next Solana.

The competitiveness of the Solana project is definitely being challenged by Bitgert. After the Bitgert team launched a blockchain that is faster than Solana, it automatically became the toughest competitor. Now SOL is not the fastest chain in the industry, something it has enjoyed for more than a year. The Bitgert chain zero gas fee also makes it cheaper than the SOL chain. These are two key components that lower Solana popularity.

Therefore, the Solana team will need to do more to keep this project popular in the market. Though the team is working on improving its mainnet, the issue of the gas fee will still be a big issue. Reaching the Bitgert zero gas fee might be something that the Solana team might not be able to reach.
