With Summer Around the Corner, Here are Some Crypto Events You Shouldn’t Miss

Even as the digital asset industry continues to reel in from the devastating effects of the ongoing bear market, the adoption of crypto-centric technologies has continued to forge ahead as usual. In fact, many crypto conferences/events that have taken place this year have witnessed record numbers, with more and more people from the traditional finance sector also beginning to take notice of this space.

For example, the recently concluded Consensus 2022 conference which took place in Austin, Texas welcomed individuals from a host of different financial niches and regulatory spaces — not just the crypto industry. To this point, some of the attendees included FTX CEO Sam Bankman Fried, US Senator Kathy Gillibrand, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman, Edward Snowden, NBA superstar Spencer Dinwiddie, amongst many others.

Furthermore, to date, 2022 has already witnessed a number of popular crypto conferences come to an end (such as the annual North American Bitcoin Conference, Bitcoin 2022, Paris Blockchain summit, ETHDenver). However, with nearly six more months to go, there are many highly anticipated events that crypto enthusiasts are excited to attend this summer.

Here are a few upcoming crypto conferences worth checking out

Korea Blockchain Week 

Hailed as one of the most widely attended crypto conferences in Asia, this year’s iteration of Korea Blockchain Week (KBS) will take place between August 7 -14 in Seoul. As part of the event, many prominent industry personnel will sit down together to discuss, in detail, a wide range of subjects associated with the digital asset market (including blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, DeFi, NFT, Metaverse, Web3, etc).

Over the course of the seven days, participants — depending upon their ticket valuation — will be able to attend panel discussions, fire-side chats, workshops and much more. Keynote speeches at the conference will be given by the likes of Solana’s Anatoly Yakovenko, Polygon’s Sandeep Nailwal, Nansen’s Alex Svanevik, Near Protocol’s Illia Polosukhin, etc. 

Blockchain Economy Istanbul

One of Eurasia’s largest blockchain events, the Blockchain Economy is designed to serve as an ideal meeting ground for the world’s top crypto companies and blockchain entrepreneurs. Scheduled to commence on July 27 and conclude a day later, the event will witness 3000+ attendees as well as 100+ media personnel spanning more than 50 countries. Some speakers of note include Microstrategy CEO Michael Saylor, KuCoin Labs Head Lou Yu, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Digital Transformation Alex Bornyakov, Angel investor Carl Runefelt, amongst others.

Decoded

Decoded (or Polkadot Decoded) will take place between June 29-30, bringing together some of the brightest minds operating within the realm of crypto tech. The conference is unique in the sense that it will take place across a host of different cities (Berlin, Buenos Aires, Hangzhou and New York) while also being live-streamed simultaneously.

Speakers at the event will include Gavin Wood, Robert Habermeier, Adam Carver, Aidan Musnitzky, Alain Brenzikofer, Alejandro Martinez, Alex Melikhov, Zachary Edwards alongside many Parachain team representatives. There will be a total of 100 expert talks, live project demos and interactive workshops for participants to seek out. 

World Blockchain Summit Dubai

This October, the World Blockchain Summit will take place in Dubai, playing host to a number of crypto experts, technologists, venture capitalists, policy makers who will all come together under one roof to discuss and deliberate the future of this rapidly evolving sector and how it stands to completely transform businesses and government functions as we know it. 

The summit will also feature pitch competitions, panel discussions, investor meet-ups, project showcases, industry use-cases and formal/informal networking opportunities. The two-day event (Oct 17-18) will have in attendance the likes of Cardano Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard, Coinbase CPO Faryar Shirzad, Kraken VP Austin Alexander, Tezos Foundation chairman Hubertus Thonhauser and SingularityNET CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel.

TOKEN2049 

Token2049 is a two-day event that will take place between September 28 & 29. It will draw some of the most popular names from the crypto sphere in order to discuss matters related to the fast-maturing crypto economy. It is estimated that the event will be attended by 3000+ people alongside 150 exhibitors and 100+ speakers including Avalanche founder Emin Gun Sirer, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, Tezos co-founder Kathleen Breitman and Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz.
